“My work explores the delicate tensity between peace and chaos, reflecting the unpredictable and raw beauty of everything.”
Nearly 3 decades later, Walt has returned to his roots, once again doing what he was meant to do.
During my journey through life, I have always lived by the belief that art is everything; it’s in everything, and everything is in it. In my youth at New World School of the Arts and throughout my career as a creative technologist, everything I did was influenced by art, from the composition of programming code to the product designs I’ve helped bring to life. This was my art.
While art can be found in everything, fine art serves as a conduit for expressing the complex and multifaceted nature of the human mind. Today, as I draw from decades of personal experiences and emotions, I’m re-exploring my fine art with the use of mixed media, primarily acrylics and oils on canvas, as well as charcoal and pastels on paper. I also experiment with clay and wood sculpting.
Since 8 years old, Walt’s art has been displayed in school galleries and county art shows. As a teen, art was all that consumed him, from his grungy street art nights to the refined art lessons he learned at New World School of the Arts. His days and nights were dedicated to his art until his early 20’s where the reality of life came into focus.
For 3 decades Walt created a lucrative career as a creative technologist focused on technology development with human-centered design. Today, Walt has come full circle to once again focus on his fine art through the use of mixed media, from acrylics and oils to charcoal and pastels. Walt is a husband, father and grandfather, looking forward to teaching his grandchildren and future generations the value of self-expression through art.
